I worked for National Auto Protection Corporation (NPPC) for 3 weeks. They advertised on Craiglist that they needed someone to build a financial model and update their pitch book for them, and would pay $700 a week. I applied, and was hired to do the job. I thought that it would be a great way to help a growing company...big mistake. The company sent me their financial records to build the model, and I did the job, but I was never paid (hence the reason I only worked for 3 weeks).

I called and emailed the company for nearly two months before I had an attorney reach out to the company.  I told the company that I would report them to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) if I was not paid for my work. Finally about 2.5 months later I received a response from the company (not the President). In the response I was told that the company is not part of the BBB, and that I would only be paid $600 for the work I did. The company has said that they do not want to speak to my attorney, but they forced that hand.

The oddest thing in all of this is I still have the company's list of clients, along with their names, credit card information, and other personal information (835 clients to be exact). The company has plans of growing, and seeking additional funding, but who would invest in a company with such a poor security system in place? Don't do business with this company. They have no interest in their customers security.
