My first letter came that I owed $176.04 to BMG music from 2002. I called and they said I ordered a CD in 2002 and since I didn't pay, they have charged me interest rates compounded daily. I wrote them a letter disputing the alleged debt. They sent me another letter back saying Columbia House was the account. I didn't even live in the state in 2002 that they are claiming the address I ordered from.
Anyone having ay luck resolving the issue? I don't want to waste my time fighting it, but I am not paying a scam.

#2Consumer Suggestion

Wed, July 15, 2009

Just look at my many posts and replies here. NCS is a top worst collection agency around. They will seem nice sometimes on here. Just give them a call once. Don't give out names or info. Just generalize your story. You will see that they are unprofessional and will do anything (even refuse to validate) to make you pay. I guess they think they are untouchable. I prooved them wrong. This company is run by young 18-22 year olds on the front line (phone and answering mail from consumers). I know for a fact that they will badger, lie, threaten and do whatever they can to make people scared and want to pay to make them go away. Don't do it. Be strong. Consult a pro-bono attorney if you can find one or goto budhibbs.com to find good representation and little to no cost. Check out my web page I just started for consumer protection and www.onenationunites.com. It's still in its early stages, but we have to start somewhere to make a difference.
