Complaint Review: National Event Staffing

Lori Ann K is a scam artist by Freedom Jolly. She published personal information by a model who was unpaid by National Event Staffing. How unprofessional! Also- Lori's constant "I love National Event Staffing!" letters proves she is fake because A) no one loves an anonymous company so much that they waste time writing letters about it - only Freedom Jolly would come to ripoff reports to try to defend himself through his cowardly mask of a little girl. and B) "Lori Ann K" writes the exact same letter as another made-up character, "Joanne" in another posting on ripoff reports! Hmm funny how "Lori Ann" AND "Joanne," who are supposedly two different people, wrote the exact same "I love NES!" letter........ wow.

The information I posted about you and your website is all available online, this is Public information and nothing that anybody with a little internet savy can't find. It seems you went online this weekend and changed it because it says last update August 5, 2007 but the information I posted was a simple copy and paste.

There are many many many staff that work for modelling and event companies every day that want to maintain a good working relationship and if it takes a month or so to receive payment then we wait and stay in contact and are patient, we don't call their clients, go online and defame them or get into histaricts!

As I said internet community please stay clear of Elizabeth Melindez as you can see if she feels she's been crossed she will lash out in every direction. She is unstable and unreliable. I loved working with National Event Staffing and it was a great way to make extra money while persuing my modelling and acting career. Now I am too busy for event work but look back at the time spent with them fondly as they gave me a great way to pay my bills while making valuable contacts within the industry.

Keep up the great work National Event Staffing you rock!

Well, the above two posts pretty much say it all about the company - complain about not getting paid and you will have your name defamed, and your personal, private info posted for all to see. The above poster (obviously National Event Staffing) got a few things wrong

1. I am NOT a promotion company seeking to somehow "steal business," I have worked as a model at tradeshows, nothing more.
2. It's is NOT customary to wait longer than 3 months for payment. I have worked for many companies and they have all paid within 30 days.
3. It is not "patient and professional" to sit unpaid for 4-5 months. It's pretty obvious from several complaints about this company that they have a problem paying.
4. They complain about their "confidential information" being posted and then actually go and post REAL private information. The only information posted about National Event Staffing was PUBLICLY AVAILABLE on the internet (on their own website, no less!).

It is one thing to post a COMPANY'S public information when you have not been paid in months, it is quite another for that company to post an INDIVIDUAL'S private information as retaliation. Tradeshow staffing companies know how dangerous it can be to publish a model's personal information, and for this company to do so as retaliation is unconscionable.

Ultimately, whoever's reading this should make the decision about this company;

Here's what I did:
-Came to a rip off report site to report a company that hadn't paid me in months
-Posted my experiences as well as any information I could find on the company to help anyone else that had gone through the same problems (one needs to simply search the internet for many other complaints about this company)

Here's what they did:
-Took close to 5 months to pay me for a job that their client had PREPAID me for (verified via their client's accounting department)
-Upon learning of my complaint came to this website, not to help consumers, but to retaliate against me by posting my personal information on this site as well as make untrue, and unsubstantiated statements about my character.

They can try and say that the posts were not made by them; it may say the post was made by "Lori Anne" and someone will surely respond to this post denying any affiliation with National Event Staffing however they are the ONLY ones who would have all of the private information they posted.

You have seen my conduct firsthand, and you have now seen theirs. Take their actions into account before dealing with National Event Staffing.

I have worked with Elizabeth before as I too am a Promo Model and I must say her report on National Event Staffing is nothing more then the words of a very confused and unprofessional individual. She works in this industry and claims to have her own event company but in fact can only contact girls she knows so lets hope your event doesn't need more then 4 or 5 staff and lets hope they all attend as I have been waiting at numerous events where Elizabeth Melendez has not arrived as she is often a no show or when at an event very unprofessional and I have seen clients that are very very angry they have hired Elizabeth Melendez.

National Event Staffing and large modeling and staffing agencies have to try and communicate with hundreds and thousands of staff and clients. They reply as they can and sometimes it takes a few calls to get their attention if they have forgotten to pay you.

** I recommend that EVERYBODY STAY CLEAR of this ELIZABETH as she's UNPROFESSIONAL and a VERY UNSTABLE individual. **

I would give anybody working in this industry this advice. If you want to get a pay check every 2 weeks go work at a fast food restaurant for $7 bucks an hour and then you will get paid quickly! If you want to make $20/hr-$150/hr working promos then you have to consider that you are now basically a small company and must act accordingly. You will invoice the company and wait, most common in business is to be paid within 30 days but with promo and modeling companies it can sometimes take longer. Be PATIENT and PROFESSIONAL. Don't post their confidential information on webpages like Elizabeth Melendez has done. This just makes you look bad and unprofessional! Why would they want to work with you again or any other agency knowing that you will quickly work to trash their reputation at the drop of a hat.
