I have been a promotional model for over 5 years. I receive emails on a daily basis to sign up for various promotions from different companies. I received an email from National Event Staffing (I'll refer to them as NES). I applied for the position and was told to hold the dates as long as possible because they were interested in me, so I did.

A week before the event I did not hear from them so I sent an email asking if I was confirmed or not because I had not been contacted thus far. I finally received an email (not even a phone call which was odd) back the night prior to the event saying I had been booked. This was last minute but it was my first chance to work with the company so I took it. The event was Feb 23-24th, 2007.

After the event I promptly faxed in my time sheets and sent an email asking if they reimbursed parking. I never received a reply. I tried a phone call - it's an 866 number, so no one answers, you just get a voicemail. So I left a message. No one contacted me.

A couple months went by and then I started to wonder if they were going to even pay me at all. I began to contact them again, phone and by email. Freedom Jolly (Account Manager) replied to one of my emails stating he had moved my payment up in accounting and that he would get back to me.

It's been 3 weeks now and he hasn't attempted to contact me. I called again and again and threatened to contact the client directly to complain. They still haven't contacted me so I contacted the client and I'm hoping they will contact NES and maybe this will get me paid!

Note: All the other girls that worked with me, it was also their FIRST time working with NES and they also received the email the night before and none of them have received payment yet either. SHADY!

I love working for National Event Staffing they always offer me great work oppertunities at great pay rates.

They usually offer me between $15/hr to $150/hr depending on the type of event and the duties with the average pay rate being about $35/hr. Street level marketing pays much less then tradeshow work and then I usually get paid the most for events where I'm speaking on a microphone and engaging guests or small groups. Bottom line is that National Event Staffing connects me to great clients and I get paid very well and this kind of work allows me to work around my schedule, accepting work whenever I can.

When working for any staffing agency it is important to be patient and professional. The agencies deal with hundreds of staff and multiple clients each month and sometimes things fall behind as they deal with all the paperwork but I don't mind waiting a few months for each pay check if necessary as this type of work is extra for me around my 9-5 job and the pay is always great!

Have a great day and always remember to smile.
