National Fitness Financial Systems Refuses to suspend memberships while girls are in college in other towns Layton Utah
I know National Fitness is just a debt-collection agency, and their job is to get as much money out of us as possible for their clients, but I resent their tactics. When my daughter enrolled at a gym last February, she was told she could suspend membership at any time, for any reason, for as long as she was unable to participate. My daughter is currently in college in another town; we have furnished NF letters of acceptance, course schuledules, academic calendars, and every time they wait until the next billing period and demand more documentation. We are fed up and have had to close the account from which the fees are drawn. My bank is fed up with me; the whole thing has been a nightmare.

What does the contract say?

What your daughter was "told" and what was written in the actual legal contract are two different things. If the contract does not specify that the membership can be suspended for any reason, then the membership can NOT be suspended for any reason. Suck it up as a lesson learned and become a more responsible consumer in the future.
