Complaint Review: National General Insurance

National General Insurance SafeGuard Casualty.Com Inc GMAC I was quoted an amount to begin with and within the first month, the payment went up $25, then another $15. I'm basically back at the rate I was at before I switched to what I thought was a better priced policy. So much time spent getting quotes and switching insurance and now I have to begin again. I am just thankful I didn't set up auto draft because who knows what this company would have just taken from me if they had the option! I tried contacting the agent that sold me the policy and he was extremely rude and unprofessional telling me "fight another battle" as a struggling single mother on a strict budget upping my policy by over $40 a month is a BIG deal to me!       I signed up for a policy at $152 a month, after I made my downpayment of $202.60 they jacked up the monthly rate to $192.36. They say it is because I am not set up for auto pay, so the rate changed.
      This companys customer service is uncaring and unprofessional telling me to "choose another battle" As a struggling single mother I cannot afford the extra $40+ a month after I've already budgeted for an amount smaller. I would have never switched my insurance if I knew they were going to take a large down payment and then force me to find a new policy because I now cannot afford the monthly payments.

I hope I can prevent this from happening to anyone else, I should have checked into the company better as there are already multiple compplaints filed. Hard lesson learned!
