Where to begin....
I called to make a claim 8am 3/28/2008. I told them my hot water heater is leaking. The nice lady gave me a work # and a number to call in a half hour. I called, the nice plumber came out and found indeed my water heater was done. He called NHP and they told him, I was not a member covered by their warranty (even though I have the copy of my 375$ cleared check endorsed with the National Home Protection Inc stamp) and on top of that they said they do NOT cover water heaters!!! , even though the e-mail from them states ".

MAJOR SYSTEMS COVERAGE THAT'S RIGHT FOR YOU. Plumbing System Plumbing Stoppages Air Conditioning Electrical System
Heating System >> Oven/Stove Microwave
Dishwasher Garbage Disposal Refrigerator Washer
Dryer Ductwork Garage Door Opener Ceiling Fans

I corrected him that I had paid for his service, and he demanded proof and thought I was pulling a fast one on him, I wasn't in the "system". I wondered, how did I get a work order number, if I'm not in your system!!! Maybe HE was mistaken. I asked for his name, and he told me "John Doe", I told him to cut the S*** and tell me his real name, at this time he told me to F*** OFF and hung up the phone. I was blown away!!! I've never been talked to like that. I went back, checked my records and sure enough they cashed my check 11/28/2007 and it is 3/28/2008 today, so I'm sure I should have been covered. Regardless, I have tennents that need hot water. If I'm not covered, then give me back my money with interest, since you held my cash for no service for 4 monthes for no reason, since no I have to pay my plumber for the work. This company is a fraud and they are cocky as hell about it too. Who on earth talks to their customers (or potencial) customers like that. And now that I think of it, I first got the warranty the year before, I never received my 50$ Home Depot card.
