Was looking at my credit report and found these people had viewed my report. It was my understanding that they had to have my consent or permission. Until this very moment 2/10/06 I never even knew these people existed. This causes me to assume that they are data mining and creating consumer profiles for profit. And what if they compromise the info.? This makes me very angry. Is there anything punitive that can be done to these parasites?

Protection the data you don't want released is already out there

Contact the three major credit bureaus and request no soft checks be done on your credit. Also report that your personal information has already been mined and you fear you may be targeted for identity theft. This is indeed a form of data mining where the company has purchased a consumer list with enough sensitive information on it to allow access to your credit file. So your fear is very real, unfortunately for you, the data you don't want released is already out there.
