My husband recieved a call tonight from a woman saying that she worked for National Medical Strategies. The woman then told him that he had signed up for medical discount insurance and that in order for him to cancel it they would need for him to verify his information. They started off just asking about his name and address and then they wanted his bank account information. My husband then told the woman that he didn't feel comfortable just giving his number out on the phone, could they just tell him what they had and he would verify if that was correct. The woman froze, she didn't know what to say. So then he asked to speak to a supervisor. After a moment a woman got on the line who sounded just like the first woman. She started the spiel and he told her hang on a moment and talk to his wife. I got on the phone and said what is going on. She stated that 30-45 days ago my husband had signed up for insurance and that in order to cancel it...etc She gave me the name of the company and since I was at the computer I googled it and found out it was a scam. (Obviously, we had just moved and opened a new account.) I said excuse me miss would this be the same medical strategies that is listed on ripoffreport.com as a scam. She stuttered and hung up the phone.
