National Moving Group Lies, lies, lies. Dishonest company with dishonest employees. SCAM!!!!!! Boca Raton Florida

I don't know where to begin. I decided to use National Moving Group about 3 weeks ago.

My moving coordinator, Brandon, was clearly a salesman but initially seemed ok. He told me he was going to be my moving coordinator throughout the move (from NJ to FL).

As it turns out, this company is a scam and Brandon is a liar.

-He told me they were a moving company, NOT a broker. (A 5 star moving company, at that!) He literally told me HIS company is extremely busy with moves all summer, trying to pressure me to sign with him right away. National Moving Group isn't even a moving company!

- He promised me that the estimate I was given is binding and that I won't pay a penny extra for things many other moving companies charge for. FLAT OUT LIE. The estimate changed, and I was charged for extra items time and time again, like the stairs and packing tape.

- He told me the movers are amazing and get paid $30/hour. (flat out lie, how could he possibly know that, considering they aren't even from the same company!!!) The movers are not well paid and essentially work for tips.

- He promised me that regardless of the cubic square footage, I would be charged PER POUND. He told me the software they use almost always overestimates the weights of certain items- for example, my queen mattress and box spring do NOT weigh 455 lbs, but that is how the software inputs it and it cannot be manipulated. He told me the moving truck would be weighed before and after my items were placed on the truck. He promised me that because of the overestimation, I'd likely be paying LESS than the original estimate. When the movers came yesterday (06/28/2016) imagine my surprise to see they were not from National Moving Group at all. Beyond that, they do NOT charge per pound, they charge by cubic sq feet, and the move wound up costing me $400 more than the original estimate!!! Brandon promised me multiple times that it was per pound, they use a calculation including cubic square feet, but at the end of the day, it truly is by pound, and that I'd more than likely receive money back once it was weighed because I was under-weight.

-I called National Moving Group while the movers were there and Brandon quickly transferred me to another man who told me he didn't understand what the problem was, as I explained it to him over and over again. He eventually just started laughing at me and saying "I don't know what you want or expect". I told him I wanted to speak to Brandon, and he informed me I would not be speaking with him again as he no longer has anything to do with my move. So much for being my coordinator from NJ to FL, another lie!

-I was told the company does not charge for the first 21 steps. Turns out, they charge after the first 7! $200 for steps! Unbelievable. I only have one flights of stairs.

-I was told that packing tape is free (it's in my contract with NMG) and I was charged over $250 in packing supplies.

-I knew I was responsible for half of my remaining payment at the time the movers came and I wanted to be prepared. He told me to have with me the credit card I used to put down my initial deposit. The movers then told me they only accept cash, check, money order. I was notified of this at 6:45 pm, unable to run to the bank or post office.

Brandon, one of their sales rep, talked an amazing game, promising the most incredible move, NO EXTRA CHARGES, constant contact between my move from NJ to FL, incredible customer service from a "5 star moving company". He is nowhere to be found now!

I am truly sick over this. The lying and dishonestly has to stop, this company should be shut down. If you check them out online, you will see very similar reviews, many MUCH worse than mine.

If they had been upfront from the beginning, I NEVER in a million years would have utilized National Moving Group's Services.

I took them at their word (they claim to be a 5 star moving company) and then had to pay a lot more than originally agreed upon, not to mention all of the other lies. Had I been given the correct information, I could have made an informed decision and chosen another company.
