My 96 blazer reached 251,000 miles. I started shopping for a  "rebuilt" motor.  BBB A+ rating led me here.  Called for exact pricing on a "Rebuilt" motor and spoke with Rus. I was given 940.50 shipping included with a 3 yr warranty.  The motor was to be "pressure tested" and "Dyno" tested as well as have the mileage noted. NONE of that was true. After calling a few other places I decided this was cheapest.  Called back and spoke with "Dr. Jamel Certified Parts-ologist." Whatever that means.  And told him specs on the motor and the price i was quoted and I was told that "We still have that motor in stock" I ordered it. During the audio recorded conversation there is a part where he lists described parts. His description was "Used". Now I am not a mechanic, but I was under the impression that a rebuilt motor was used and this was nothing to be concerned with. Again i was wrong.  What arrived was a motor that leaked oil from the valve cover gasket, radiator fluid from the intake gasket, and a small seepage from the oil pan gasket. the oil dipstic tube was crushed as well as the distributor cap.   I called them today and the response i recievd was that I was to pay 20% restock fee plus the original shipping to me that was supposed to be free, as well as return shipping.  in all 580 dollars was to be kept of the 940.50 that i paid.  And I would have nothing to show for it. DO NOT SHOP WITH THESE PEOPLE, THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS. Please be carefull, this is ongoing and i will return with resolution. if any  Steve Rock Hill SC

Thank God For Bank Of America!!!

Online Fraud Protection- Any online purchase, if returned immediately, will be given a full refund to avoid any fraudulent online sales, if your unsatisfied for any reason they will give you your money back and go after the company.

They (National Parts) DID refund me but kept not only 200 return shipping but also 180 restocking fee. My business with this company was not what i would call anything but horrible. I wont be making any referrals.

they carged me 940 for the motor linked above, check this one i got for 980, and runs like a dream! that is a definite show of their products and actions.

Better

RE-Lies

I will discuss your rebuttal with you line by line so there will be no more misunderstandings.  I see you and your business thrive on it.

---you are correct, the owner of the credit card did not place the order and you never requested to speak with her for any authorization.

---you are incorrect, we initially called asking about re-manufactured/rebuilt motors. and were quoted a price, when i called back telling the price and engine make and model i was simply informed it was still in stock, never before the order was in "verification" was the word "used" used. IF you recorded the whole call as you say, you will know this, and provide it as you say.

---you are incorrect, I intended no scam, that's why we offered to pay shipping to get it back to you, it is the original shipping, the restock fee, and then a return trip, that we werent willing to pay for, and your company would accept nothing less and even hung up on us when we tried to ask questions about the sales agreement that was sent to us. and we were told we were wrong that the paper that you sent was wrong.  I am still willing to pay to ship it back.  I understand a misunderstanding but taking half of the original price and keeping the engine was unacceptable.

---you are incorrect, the engine was not shipped on its side, this address shows the engine sitting at the shop the day it arrived, it is still attached to the pallet and you can plainly see its sitting upright.  tinyurl.com/enginephotos

---you are incorrect, if you examine the other photos you can see where the intake manifold is leaking fluid, not from the hoses. lower left photo if you dont know what your looking at.

---you are incorrect, i could not have installed it and been out no other expense.   with a simple inspection of the photos I've provided, you will note a long term leakage, that is evident even after they cleaned it up, the likely-hood of further internal issues is substantially higher.   not that you know, or i would know how bad the motor you sent was, but the motor im replacing is in better condition then the one you sent, and mine has for sure 251000 miles.

I am still willing to pay shipping to send it back, but i would expect a full refund on your part if i pay to ship it back, then you have done nothing to fix the issue at hand, if i returned the product, you return my money.  that is reasonable.

Lies

Again an uninvestigated complaint gets posted.  This person, Catherine, did not order the part.  A gentleman did it for her.  He ordered a "used" long block assembly.  This is recorded in our secure digital order verification system.  I will make this available to anyone she wants to hear it.

Catherine is trying to claim that a rebulit part was ordered. We do not sell rebuilt parts.  The recording of the gentleman ording a "used" part is clear. Catherine is also claiming that she believes that rebuilt and used means the same thing. We make it clear that you, the customer, are responsible for knowing what to order for your vehicle.  We cannot think for you. I will point out again that she did not order the part, someone else did. No one told the gentleman that the assembly was dyno tested. The entire order was recorded.

The customer agreed on the recorded order verification, at the time of purchase, that cancellation of the order after shipping charges were incurred would result in freight and restock charges.  When you make an agreement before the sale, you are bound by that agreement, just like we are.

The only scam here is a lady, who did not order a part, claiming that she was deceived.  She is doing this in order to compel us to give a full refund, leaving us to pay for her decision through freight and restock charges from the supplier. We believe that when you make a decision, you live with the results.  This customer will deal with the results of her decision. Her real issue is with the gentleman who ordered for her.

The engine was shipped on its side, hence the leaking oil.  This is not a problem, it is expected. I will remind the Catherine that a long block assembley was ordered, which does not include the valve covers, dipstick tube or distributor. This is detailed on our website and in the terms and conditions.  They are left in place only to protect the assembly during shipment.  Radiator fluid was leaking from the water ports, just like it should when disconnected from the radiator.

The customer could have installed the assembly and been out no other expense. She chose to go this route instead. Had she ordered the part herself, she would have know the consequences.  We tried to explain it to her, but got threats in return

To the other person who seems to be there to bad mouth us and the BBB with posts, piggy backed on other people's complaints.  Get educated.  Count the number of complaints and divide by 150,000.  That is the complaint rate we have.  Less than 1 %. The lowest in the industry.  This is not politics like you see on opinion television.  This is the real world where the truth prevails. The truth is that the BBB, and everyone else involved, disagreed with you regarding your complaint.  Yes I know who you are, and you believe that you can hurt us with lies. Anyone who reads this can go to the BBB and ask about our record verses others in the industry. They can also ask how a business can get an A+ rating like we have.  Only through quality performance with customers.

Steve,

The BBB protects these people. Anyone with over 1 hundred complaints a year IS doing bad business. The BBB only income is from these type people. They will however cut them off with government action. The attorney general is a state funded entity whose so function is protect consumers. Contact them in your state and theirs. With enough people getting involved then maybe the scam can be stopped. Email other people who have gotten ripped off. They will also join in.

Contact the people who run this site. They know how to stop people.

Keep up the fight!

Good Luck!
