National Platinum And Member Services ripoff Charlotte North Carolina
I have applied for a National Credit Card per a emial I received in Dec of 2006. I was told I would receive 2500.00 for appling on the card. I was to receive the membership package within 30 days. I gave them 49.95 to join. I received the online password and a call to get a 2500.00 loan not applied to my Platinum account. I declined it. I got online to see about puchasing items for christmas and found that the promise of only paying 50% down payment was not true on most of there items. The down payment requirements were more like 60 to 75% down. I decided to cancel this membership. I sent them a letter on 1/5/07. I am still being charge the 14.oo a month for this service and I called today 4/10/07 to find out why. I called the 1-800-972-8094 and was asked to verify my name, address, zip code and e-mail address. I was asked to verify myu checking account number. I told them I did not want to do this over the phone and I was told by a very rude man that he was not going to assist and I stated I did not want to talk about anything other then cancelling this and why I have not received any membership card.
I asked if I could fax the letter and he stated yes they would cancel the membership effeccctive today and I stated I wanted this to be backed dated to the date on the letter and I was told I could made up this letter and no. I stated that I would like to speak to a manager he rudely stated he was one and I could not speak to anyone else I stated again the address the letter was sent to and he stated we weren't going there and he had done all he was going to do and hung up. I called back and spoke to a different person and got the same from her. They would talk to me unless I gave them my Checking account number and told them I did not want to give them my intire checking account number and they hung up.
I called back and spoke to the same rude gentalmen that states he is a manager and asked for the President of the copies name and was told he was not giving any of that info and if I went into a store I would have to speak to that manager and I informed him that was not true that I had been an executive for a Retail Chain for over 25 years and That a true customer service based company would give that infor. He stated that I was getting anything from them cause I would not verify my chaecking account number and I told him I was reproting this company he laughed and stated good I will be waiting to reply and hung up.
No company has the right to not verify or anything if I do not give htem my checking account number I verified everything else they asked for and I did not have any questions about the account activity.
