Signed a contract with National Prep Network (aka Game Film Solutions, Game Film Acquisitions etc) in September of 2008. Company rep/partner was Jimmy Cordy.  The company was also somehow affiliated with Varsity Gold so I somewhat trusted them.  They need help creating football highlight videos for kids from all over the country from raw game film they have solicited from high school football coaches.  Everything is put on online.  Sounds like a great idea - way of the future.  I start cutting video almost around the clock as I am to get paid per video.  All runs smooth at first as they give me as much work as I can handle and they pay up monthly (per terms of the contract) up until December 2008.  I submit my January invoice for close to $2500 which is for a ton of time/work in front of a computer cutting and editing video.  Get an email the next day from Jimmy Cordy saying:

"I regret having to send this message to you.  We are not going to be able to continue paying contractors for a period of time.  We are working on some re-org and funding challenges right now, so I wanted to let you know that we need to terminate our contract with you for the time being as of today.  We are looking at some alternative funding sources as we work through this and are optimistic we will find what we are looking for."

Needless to say, never saw a penny of the $2500 owed me.  They terminate our contract when they owe me $2500?!?!?!  Avoid these guys at all costs as they are still trying to operate by ripping off new people.  They hide behind new LLC names but look out for the Minnesota home address.

#2UPDATE EX-employee responds

Tue, January 11, 2011

I am the person referenced in this report. In January 2009, I was let go from NPN/GFS. The information provided by this report is accurate. However, the original writer of this report, who I'm pretty sure I know who it is, is not aware of all the circumstances.

I was responsible for obtaining game film and highlights for this company, from the sales side. Once a contractor agreement was signed, it was my responsibility to ensure our contractors were paid for the work performed. That was done in good faith to a number of contractors. However, I had no power or influence to actuallycut checks. I maintained records of contractor work/results, reported them to our GM, and then checks were cut as appropriate.

The last day of January 2009, I was informed that Varsity Gold, whose owners were funding this business, had filed for bankruptcy protection. Our funding was gone instantly. For a number of us, we lost our jobs and our own salaries that very day, with no advance warning.

I was informed by individuals who actually wrote the checks that alternative funding sources were being sought and that the intention was to keep the company going. Let me clarify, it wasn't "individuals"....it was one person. I will not name him here because I don't think it's appropriate, but that one person knows who he is. I was directed to send emails like the one reported in this report. All the while, I was being told that I, too, would get paid (not only going forward, but for the period of time I had already worked prior to the layoff - but never got paid for). However, the one responsible for seeking alternative funding moved on without me, yet never had the courage to tell me that. For 5 months I was told that funding would come along any moment. Then the calls stopped. He would notrespond to any calls, texts, emails or anything else.

Later I found out that I was a victim of his greed. As one who had rightful shares in the ownership of the company, I was obviously a hinderance to his ambition. Others were hired back (those who did not have ownership rights), told not to communicate with me, and the company moved on in its efforts to operate as we had hoped to do previously. Those efforts had started within 45 days of the original layoff - without my knowledge. Essentially, I had been cut off and not told. I was even led to believe for multiple months that we were all just waiting for funding to get started again. Yet, the truth was that he had already started workingwith the others, decided who he did and did not want topay, changed the name of the company, and moved on.

I regret there were people who were victims of his greed, including the original author of this report. Believe me, 6 months without work or any income, combined with the knowledge that my "friend" had betrayed me, continues to impact my life.

Individuals and company "partners", as well as colleges, high school coaches and players, have all fell victim to the greed of this man. It's a shame. We had a great thing going, a wonderful concept, a group of really hard working people with completely honest intentions...but we all fell victim to one man's decisions.

So again, the information in this report is all factual, but I hope my name is no longer associated with that company.
