I signed a lease for a credit card processing machine, which, I was told was worth $4,200. The rep told me that my current machine was too old to work, which was not true. Upon an ivestigation I found the machine's retail price was $469.00. The lease was to be 60 mo. at $49.99, they debit $60.77 a month with no explination why the different amounts. I had attempted to contact them but all I get is voice mail hell, and no call back. the contract states the only way out is through the BBB. I have filed a complaint with them and am awaiting action.
I have spoke to a lawyer who said they have violated the law via fraud through inducement. Legal costs would probably exceed the value of the lease. I am a retired peace officer and I have considered contacting the local DA's office, but I don't thing they would be interested knowing them.

as of this date the bbb has recieved a response from NPMG which was somwhat terse, however they faxed a copy of my contract which was not the one I signed. It was written by somone other than the rep who filled my contract out, and they signed my name, a pritty good forgery.I notified the bbb about this but have had no response. Now it gets good, maybe for all of us. I have contacted the Governer's office(I have contacts there) and was greeted with interest. They have taken copies of my file and may begin a three front investigation into NPMG and CIT. Also I, next week have a meeting with the District Attorney of Alameda county ( More contacts there) and they expressed interest in my case and other victims in Alameda county. having been a law enforcement officer for 20 years you meet a lot of important pepole. Stay tuned.
