I suddenly had a "derogatory" collection account appear on my credit report for $51.00 / reported by National Credit REcovery with the original creditor as Capital Management Ventures. I have no knowledge of either company and would not have had a $51.00 debt that I wouldnt have paid. This dropped my credit score by over 40 points..

I have the exact same thing on my credit report and I think it is bogus. I called Capital Management and they wanted my SS#, ha. Told me they couldn't help me and hung up.

So I called National Recovery and told me it was a charge to Columbia House DVD. Thats bull. Never received any dvds from them and then the lady told me that I signed up for the service but never received the dvd but I broke the contract because I was suppose to order 12 dvds in the first year and that is what they are charging me for. BOGUS I say it is fraud.

If it's not your debt....and you dont know either company .....how is it that you know it's past the 7yr S-o-L ....and beyond the collectable time allowed?

I now have found this in addition to reported on my Experian report; it is now on my Transunion report. It dropped my credit score 42 points on Experian and 69 on Transunion. All for a bogus, illegal invalid debt. Experian is almost impossible to get anything removed from no matter what you say or what proof you send; they will always side with the bogus, illegal creditor. Transunion will usually remove it but it takes them numerous complaints and some time..And all for a paid debt of 51.00 and one that is well over the 7 year reporting period.
