Received package in the mail. Had tried to stop first $99 withdrawal but could not do it. I did check out their "offers". The specials on software etc. can be obtained freely on the internet and I knew of some already.

Quickbooks is one example, Anyone can obtain free trial software by registering @ the quickbooks-intel site yet this is listed as one of their two software offerings??

MyComputerClub.com is another example, obviously from the .com they are on internet, I have never purchased from them but I believe almost anyone can by registering and paying some sort of down payment.

They "offer" credit cards, they offer addresses where you can go apply for American Express etc. You can do this on your own with less hassle by typing in American Express in Google.

The list goes on and on, eCost.com and Dell are two reputable sites as are Crucial memory, I have shopped them before and I don't need to spend $328 so I can shop there again.

Evidently the second sum of the annual registration fee of $239.00 is not too clearly spelled out in the telephone conversation if it is mentioned at all. At the very least it is implied that this sum will not be withdrawn until the 30 days of original membership is up. I believe it was 2 weeks afteer original membership that it was withdrawn from my bank account. I thought my husband had authorized it but he had not. I did receive a reply to my email (telling me they would get in touch with me)but their phone service is an answering machine plainly and simply.

If the second withdrawal from my bank account had been my grocery money or my bill paying money where would I be now??

Seriously if this is an actual service that offers something I will put up a web site for only $100 a year and have a few shiny flyers printed and a plastic card, give eveyone some websites to go to for good deals and I will be preforming basically the same service. We did receivee some "certificates" for free gas and other services, probably you charge to your credit card and they give you $100 worth of free gas and then charge $15 a month for other coupons which no one uses and you keep getting charged. Or the free long distance, I don't know what the going rate is now but the ceritificate is for $100, any phone company used to give you $75 free for changing and the other $25 is probably because I am behind times.

In closing here is one of the "selling points" of their membership--- As a NSBA member you are entitled to a free health insurance quote----again yellow pages, call the 800 number of an insurance agency I'm sure they would be glad to come give you a free quote. If you don't want to waste the energy dialing I'm sure if you breathe you are interested in insurance to anyone they will have an agent who is a friend, cousin, spouse..... who would be overjoyed to give you a quote.

NSBA charges a fee for "services" that are almost as easily obtained as water or oxygen, they use implications that they are perhaps goverment associated by using the Pennsylvania Street address in Washington DC and a name similar to a government agency which I am sure isn't illegal but it is unethical.
