national title pawn is rip off they got me before on a dodge stealth like this ,i swore i would never use them again but finances of these days i had no choice. i borrowed 320.00 to start the 20 had to pay titles fees. well i have paid on it several times and then recieved a letter from magistrate court to determine if they are probable cause exist to that a crime has been commited, and whether criminal warrant should be issued! can you believe this, i mean these people got more than what i have borrowed and still want me locked up and from what i have heard, the judge will lock you up for them if you dont pay this off. when you appear at court from people who have been thru this already.

is this fair i think something should be done. they tryed to set legal limits on their interest rates but said title paws payed off local goverment letting the bill be disposed of is this fair? to us the consumer? Can anyone help this is freakin crazy. on august 2 2008 ill be in jail for not paying 460 dollars on a truck i borrowed 320 on wtf !!!

I guess media coverage is what ill have to do to open peoples eyes i will repost this on every site i can find pertaining to this matter.if i am in jail my brother will continue to update this and whats goin on. i did not know you could be locked up for not being able to pay a debt!!!! if so 99% of america would be locked up today!!!dont you guys think.National title pawn is a ripoff anyone who has dealt with this plz reply and lets get together!!!

Understanding Title Pawning 101

#16UPDATE Employee

Mon, July 21, 2008

I have read the reports filed by Tim and am very glad to see that he got it resolved. I would like to say that I have been in this industry for over 16 years and eight of them has been as an employee of this company. Most dissatisified customers give this industry a bad rap. First of all it is not fair to assume that all title pawn companies are the same because they are not. We strive to do everything in our power to keep our customer happy and satisfied. We explain exactly what they are obligating themselves to. I also ask my customers if they understand everything I have explained to them before I let them sign the contract.

We also tell them the fastest way out of a pawn is to pay it out in 30 days. I try and encourage my customers to pay as much as they can OVER the interest so they can get out of the debt faster. We do not want anyones vehicle, that is not what we are here for. We are here to have a sucessful business yes, but we are here to help people who are unbanked and people who may not have the credit worthyness to get money anywhere else. I let my customers know if they have a problem with making a payment all they need to do is let me know and we will work it out. We have compassion for our customers, we understand that each customer we have is different, one from the next.

We strive to meet each individuals needs as they arise. I had a customer who had been with me for several years start complaining about the interest we charge and saying we were ripping people off. I told him, you came to me because you needed the money and you knew exactly what you were doing and how much it was going to cost for the pawn. I have people tell me everyday that they do not know what they would have done if we didn't help them and thanked me for working with them. I tell them that they are a blessing and it was my honor to help them.

Theft by deception of a Loan ehh

#16Consumer Suggestion

Sun, March 30, 2008

So then sounds like you went to a title loan place and took out a loan on your car title. The only problem being that you do not hold clear title to the property the bank or some other entity does. Does that sound about right to you????

This being the case where is the ripoff?? You are ripping off National Title Pawn not the other way around right??

As a former retired law enforcement officer from the State of Georgia I can tell you that the only way a warrant can be issued for you in a civil matter is you commit a criminal act. These would be fraud with the actual title, preventing the repossession of the vehicle or writing a bad check as a payment. A magistrate can only issue a warrant if a violation of criminal statues has been committed. There is more to this story we're not hearing. If it actually is as you state report the matter to the GBI for investigation.

Tim needs an education, in more ways than one! Cannot go to jail for non payment of debt.

Tim,

You CANNOT be locked up for a bad debt. Period. I don't know what kind of crack you are smoking, but you need to put it down.

Your are obviously a moron, es evidenced by your illiterate ramblings. Go back to school and learn how to read and write, and maybe you won't need title loan places. Try some capitalization, punctuation, and a spell checker for starters.

Please post one person's name here that you know that has been locked up for bad debt. Just one. Or are you just listening to the idle threats of a crackhead debt collector?

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... I figured it out...

I just reread it. You must be hiding the car and not giving it to them when they came to repo it.......that will do it. If you stop making payments toward a car loan (which this is a car note) and you hide the car and do not let them repo it they can charge you with theft. I would suggest turning it over and/or trying to work out a payment plan.

Did you write a bad check?

#16Consumer Suggestion

Fri, March 28, 2008

I dont know of any rules in any state that you would get locked up for this.... the only thing I can think of is if you wrote a bad check and they fowarded it to the proper officials....or if you took the property and they asked for it to be returned because it has not been paid off and you hid it/ in some states that can be considered theft. Usually that only applies to rent-to-own or auto repo cases. Please explain what they said in the paperwork from the courts why they are trying to lock you up!

Last I heard

#16Consumer Suggestion

Thu, March 27, 2008

You may be leaving alot out here but last I heard there is no such thing as debtors prison in the good ole US of A. Who knows maybe you are being summoned as a witness against these folks for usury or something.

Was the title to your car or was there someone elses name on the title?? Did you bounce any checks while paying this??

Like I said some details missing here. Please tell the whole story (or a short version of it)
