My autistic brother Patrick is this companies lastest victim. I am his older sister and I opened a checking account for him at US Bank so he could save money he recieved from Birthdays, Christmas, ect. All of the correnspondence for this account was supposed to be sent to me and he was never to be contacted. I opened his bank statement, which normally has no transactions, to discover he has $0.24 in his account and that there was a debit for $25.95 within the last few weeks. I have his debit card and his account information, he has no way to access his account on his own. When we went to US Bank, they were no help what so ever. They gave us the phone number to their affiliate and wished us luck.

When I called NUFIC's customer service center and explained to them that Patrick is autistic and my mom has legal gaurdian ship of him and he should have never been contacted in the first place and that I want his policy cancelled and money refunded I was told to write a letter and given an address. I was also told that he was contacted by phone and he agreed to take this policy. When I told them I wanted to hear the phone conversation where he agreed to this, I was told to request it in my letter. When I asked specific questions about how he, who only has used his checking account maybe 10 times in five years was pre-quified, I was told by manager Jimmy Johnson that he was not sure and to ask that in my letter. When I asked for a phone number to speak to a NUFIC sales person I was told they did not have one. My husband then called and ran into the same dead ends as I did. We are now going to go to US Bank and fill out the Federal Regulation form E and we will try to contact a National news affiliates local office. I'm sure they will gobble this story up around Christmas time. It blows my mind especially after reading the stories in this site that this company is able to stay in business. I for do not plan on letting this go. I want this company to be held accountable!

That insurance company is an AIG subsidiary, owned in part by us taxpayers. Contact the BBB, who ought to help when you've lost money to these thieves. Their cold callers are experts in wringing the right words out of one's mouth to then provide "proof" you agreed to them signing you up. They did it to me but I did get them to cancel without any further issues before money was lost. I still complained to the BBB about their practices, but the BBB told me they stay out of it unless money was withdrawn.

Well, your money was withdrawn, so go for it. Post here again if the BBB does not help out.AIG is a bunch of crooks and the biggest shame is that the government obviously lets them get away with it. Why no law is enacted to prevent them from getting one's bank account info without explicitly getting that information field by field from you, instead of their "business partner" the bank, is beyond me.
