We received a post card from National Vehicle Protection Services addressed to my mother who has been dead 5 years. There hasn't been a car registered in her name for over 30 years before that, the cars were always registered in my father's name. The post card said that the factory warrenty on her car was about to expire and to call immediately. Knowing it was a scam, my father called the number and asked what vehicle they wished to extend the warranty on. They said he had to tell them what the vehicle was. He pointed out that they had sent him the information, so they should know what car they were talking about. The man tried to argue that wasn't how it worked. Dad then told him that mom has been dead for 5 years and that she hadn't had a car in years. The man then tried to argue that it had really been my father they had tried to contact. He wouldn't give up the act, but wouldn't provide any information about what car he was talking about either. Clearly a scam. Beware!
