Last summer, July 2004, my husband and I purchased a $200 swimming pool for our backyard. My husband came home and began to dig a hole in the backyard so the pool could fit and wouldn't flip over in strong winds.

My landlord told us we couldn't alter the yard in that manner and he didn't want us to have such a large pool. (He has commercial property under our residence). He was afraid that if the pool tipped over, there would be water damage to the stores.

We never opened the box (swimming pool). When we went to return it, within the return period and with receipt, we were told that we could not return "Seasonal Items." We explained that we didn't want our money back, that we could buy "Seasonal" furniture for the yard.

The manager of the store cursed us, told us, we were "outta luck" and told us to get out of his store before he called the police.

We left the store and were fortunate enough to find someone to buy the pool from us, for $100.

An employee wrote of managers not hiring anyone but Indians. That is mostly true in the Yonkers Store (foreigners anyway), who are rude.

I personally do not spend much money there anymore. However, some of their items are bargains that can't be passed up. However, I will start looking at expiration dates.

Thank you for this website.

Sincerely,
Andrea
