 In fall 2014 we began a loan modification process with Nationstar mortgage. After filling out a packet and sending supporting documentation, we began a process whereby we were harassed by this company for nine months. The company began asking for paperwork we already sent, claiming they never received certain documents (even though they were included in the packet). We began corresponding via email and sent the documents. We were asked numerous times to send the same documents over, and over, and over again. Not corrected versions of the documents, just the documents themselves. Twice we had to submit updated information because they took so long that the information was considered to be outdated! Finally, after threatening to take action against them, suddenly they had our documentation and it was complete.

We received a phone call on October 28, 2015 advising us that we were approved and have a payment due on November 1st. We were upset with the late notice. They said they had been calling us for weeks. They have two contact phone numbers, our email address and mailing address. As it turns out, they called one phone number and made no other attempt to reach us. In February, they mailed the final paperwork for our loan modification. They arranged and sent out a notary. The paperwork was signed and returned. In March, they said it was the wrong paperwork. They sent corrected documents to include my spouse's name (who is not on the note, by the way) and a notary. The paperwork was signed and returned.

A few days later, my dedicated loan representative left me a voicemail saying there is something wrong with the paperwork. I called back and left a message asking what is wrong THIS time?! And why is there always a problem on their end?! I left a few more messages but he never returned my call. Fast forward to May, we receive a foreclosure notice from the courts. Not our mortgage company. They again claim they tried calling us in April. No mail. No email. No voicemail messages explaining the issue. They said, again, the paperwork we sent is incorrect. Let me rephrase that. ...the paperwork their company drew up, mailed to us, and assigned a notary to complete and file was incorrect. And we are past the deadline to sign the paperwork. Oh....but they are willing to send it out again along with a notary public and "try" to escalate our issue for us. The notary never showed up, nor called --- which leads us to believe there was no notary scheduled or assigned. I don't understand how this company is still in business. If you see Nationstar coming your way RUN away as fast as you can in the other direction. They make Bank of America look like a dream company.
