My Mortgage was sold to Nationstar a couple Months Back....it started out with the company sending me letters requesting payment before they even had my Prior Mortgage Information.  Apparently they did not even have a "Loan Number" set up for me.  I was very leary because I did send my payment to Cenlar, and they told me they did not receive that payment.....after numerous calls and flipping out...that got resolved.

Approximately a month and a half ago I received a letter stating that I did not have a current/active flood insurance policy.  Obviously I do and I called them, along with my Insurance Guy who handles my insurances to verify that I infact Do have a current active policy.  I spent number hours trying to get it through their head that the policy was good.  It was only after the 4th or 5th phone rep who said, "Oh yes you Do have a policy from what I'm seeing here"  I thought, "geez what am I in for with this company"  Along with that prior mentioned letter there was a seperated letter stating that I may not have sufficient coverage on my Flood Insurance Policy.  I questioned them about this and told them in no way shape or form do I intend on purchasing any more Flood Insurance.  I've had our policy for all but 10 years and our Mortgage will be paid off in 2 years (owing only 27K) at this point.  The guy on the other end of the phone (GET THIS) suggested I lower my Home Owners Policy so there wasn't a gap in the value of our home within the Home Owners Policy and Flood Insurance Police.....I'm thinking ARE YOU KIDDING ME?  Why would I do that.

I realize the Flood Maps in our area have been changed and alot of homeowners were affected, however when I got my last mortgage I got Flood Insurance in accordance with the law and the agreement of THAT mortgage.....and it was good enough then.  In fact I'm pretty darn sure it's illegal what they are doing here.  How can they Re-write my mortgage basically.  We owe so much less then what the property is worth.  They would lose nothing if there were a flood.

Anyway.....I did receive yet another letter suggesting we purchase more flood insurance in accordance with "THEIR" policies.  Again after numerous.....press this press that....please hold.....Blah Blah Blah....I told the next guy I talked to that I would NOT be purchasing more insurance and more of the same that I told these jerks before.  Tonight I get home from work, open my mail and sure enough, they already took money out of my escrow account ($525.60) for Gap Flood Insurance that they purchased FOR me.  And the kicker is that it is not even from NFIP (National Flood Insurance Program)  After My husband and I called them 3 times, requesting to speak to a supervisor right before their closing time....we were hung up on and put on hold with no response 3 times.  The last time was 9:02 pm....they closed at 9 and left us hanging.  Needless to say I won't get a wink of sleep tonight....I AM LIVID!  How is this legal????
