Complaint Review: Nationwide Employment Agency Nissenbaum Law Offices

I've gotten several emails from this company under different names including NES Employment, Background Check Services Inc. and Pre-Interview Screens, Inc. all telling me that an employer has requested they do a background check on me so they could offer me a job.  They offered a chance to see my background check, assuring me that people miss out on jobs all the time because of erroneous information in reports, for a fee of course.  At first I sent a few angry emails to this immediately recognizable scam threatening to contact the BBB and ripoffreport.com unless they provided me with the names of companies that had asked them to contact me.  No replies, just more "Urgent, second request" and "Urgent, final request" emails.

I didn't think anything more of it until I consented to a background check for another job and was told I might receive electronic communication about the background check, which I had to reply to.  At that point I decided to find out if there was any chance this crap was legitimate.  I googled the address and was infuriated to find that a LAW OFFICE was behind this scam.  I called them up and asked the receptionist if they had any association with "Background Check Services, Inc.".  I heard her go ask a male voice what she should say, then she returned to the phone and told me that they were not affiliated.  Something MUST be done about this law office.  In these economic times I can't think of a more pertinent scum bag to bust than a lawyer using the internet to scam job seekers.  Here is a copy of the email in case anyone else has received it:
