Earlier this year I recieved a mail from nationwide law center about a loan modification. I contacted them and after 2 days of consideration my husband and I decided to do the loan modification with Nationwide. We were told there was a 97% loan modification sucess rate. Each month I was ask for various documents as bank statements etc. Nationwide had my file for over 4 months. A week before my home went to auction I was told the bank had denied me for a modification 3 times. I was never notified of the first denial of the modification to be given any other option that might be avaiable. When I was notified that the modification was denied after 3 attemps I was given the option to write a letter to my lender about my financial situation. The new documents were submitted to the bank 6 days before my auction date. I was then told by the modification specialist that the lender needed the docs 7 days before the sale date of my home to stop the auction which I was never told when the documents were submittted. This was now 1 day before my auction. I was then told to file an emergency bankruptcy which turned out to be too late. My house went to the auction and was sold.

I lost $2,400 for a modification that never happened. My advice to homeowners trying to save thier homes is to contact thier lender personally. You might have a 99% chance of saving your own home.
