Complaint Review: Nationwide Moving Services LLC

We researched movers for several weeks for our interstate move from Utah to Texas in June, and ended up going with Nationwide Moving Services (NMS) based in Kaufman, TX. HUGE MISTAKE. After receiving our deposit in early March, we never heard from them again.  They never called us once.


I called them the week before to confirm the moving truck would be there, and after being placed immediately on hold for 15 minutes, Anna assured me that the truck would be there.  The week of the move I still hadn't heard from NMS or the driver, who was supposed to call us to confirm an arrival time. I called NMS again and was immediately placed on another lengthy hold.  Again, I was assured the truck would be there right on time.


On the day before the move, I STILL hadn't heard from either the driver or NMS, and the stress began to mount. I began calling as soon as they opened at 9am CST on the day of the move, each time being placed immediately on an extended hold, and learned around the fourth phone call at noon that our truck and movers were in Colorado and wouldn't be there until Sunday around 11am.


I decided enough was enough. NMS left us hanging on moving day for an interstate move and hadn't called us one single time in three months. I scrambled to find a U-Pack trailer from ABF (awesome www.ABF.com), and by the grace of God, they delivered one that very night. I then found a local crew of three men that happened to be available the next morning, again by the grace of the Almighty, rented a bunch of pads from U-Haul, and worked like a dog all night to pad our belongings and load them the next morning...




You probably figured this out from the subject line of this complaint, but please don't use this company. Nationwide Moving Services took our $848.13 deposit then turned completely incommunicado, placed me on hold for tens of minutes at a time, and lied to me. It was truly a terrible experience and, after reading other reviews of them, I find that I am not alone.
