Lori and Stephanie, consultants, wrote contract including items we wanted covered, including $328 for extra  insurance.  They led us to believe they were the sole movers, but referred us to Worldwide Transfer after they collected a deposit of $1,395 with a total contract of $3516.68.  Our move was from Kansas to Florida. On 12/20/10 we received a call from a Jeff Warren of Worldwide Transfer saying he had a driver coming to pick up our furniture that day.  When the driver arrived in a 26 ft. Ryder truck, he presented us with a contract for $2300.  I said I'm not signing another contract until I contact Nationwide which was the next day (Monday).  I called to talk with Lori or Stephanie and was RUDELY refused and had to talk with the dispatcher who told us Nationwide was just the broker.

The Worldwide driver returned the next day with helpers from Labor Finders and they worked until 1:00a.m. trying to get all our furniture on that small truck, all the while calling Jeff Warren.  They had a verbal fight using bad language including the "f" word.  I told them to put the rest of our furniture in our garage and we would resolve the problem the next day.  We were instructed to rent a U-Haul truck to store the rest of our furniture in U-Haul and it would be delivered on 12/31.  The driver took the keys and delivered some of our furniture as we drove our car.  We called to see if our furniture was coming on 12/31 and on we were lied to on four dates of delivery, each time Jeff Warren yelled and went into a rage for no reason.  The driver was supposed to overnight the keys to U-Haul but didn't.  We got tickets and flew to Kansas and rented a U-Haul and drove our own furniture back (a month later.)  We've never heard from Nationwide nor Worldwide since.

Now the insurance company said they have not done business with either company for over a year because they never paid their bills nor answered their phones.  Now we have damaged furniture and ended up paying a total of $5400 and had to drive the stored furniture ourselves to Florida.

PLEASE DO NOT USE NATIONWIDE MOVING OR WORLDWIDE TRANSFER!  THEY ARE FRAUDULENT!
Has anyone had a situation like this and what was your recourse?

I will post my horrifing story reguarding these two companies soon. But for now, I too have been taken for a nasty ride with both companies. NEVER,EVER in my life have I EVER seen companies behave in such a matter. Today was the last straw for me. Comparing my story to yours, seems they make this a habit of coming to load with a 26 ft truck, reguardless of the size of your home. It seems to be a ploy to charge overage charges. We too have not yet seen the rest of our items that they stuck in a storage unit. Its been almost a month and still no delievery date. They promised two different dates and never showed up. Rebbeca, with  WORLDWIDE TRANSFER is a sad excuse for a so called business owner. Who conducts busniess with a cell you never answer or constantly have full voicemail??

I had it today. I did alot of research and this is what I did. I filed complaints with the  BBB on both companies. I contacted JJ at the AZ DEPT OF WEIGHTS AND MEASURES. His number is:
602-771-4920...he will help you. I filed with them,as they never provided a weight ticket for first load but insisted we leave money in amount of 520.00 in the garage with our stuff that was left behind. I also filed a complaint with FEDERAL MOTOR CARRIER; 1800-832-5660,ASK FOR ASHLEY.....JJ at az weight and measures stated he will help me get my stuff and will have charges removed. He stated, since they are asking for additional 800.00 to bring it,he said it was illegal. He stated him,and federal motor have a way of getting them off their duffs, and fast. DO NOT LET THIS GO! THE MORE OF US WHO COMPLAIN TO THESE AGENCIES,THE FASTER THEY GET SHUT DOWN! Our driver,Robert, showed up in an ENTERPRISE TRUCK. With no inventory sheet in hand. He also drove over 12 hours before he called us and said he was exhausted and had to stop to sleep so we didnt get our delievery on guaranteed date. They never wrapped our items. We have damaged goods as well. THIS WAS THE MOST HORRIFING EXPERIENCE EVER. I recieved a call from our driver yesterday, cussing me out because i called enterprise to warn them what this company is doing. Enterprise cut buisness ties with them. Robert was inraged! He yelled and screamed at me and accused me of calling enterprise to say they stole my items. That never happened. I,as as consumer have every right to ck on a buisness, especially report them when they are practicing wrong doings! I was informed the reason they hire rental trucks, they make it look like a private move if ever stopped by police. They dont have to provide sleep log or pay state/road taxes....illegal. When he loaded our first load,he stated he'd be back with a weight ticket, after 1 1.2 hours of not returning he finally called to say he was too tired and not coming back. But still demand overage monies....he never supplied weight ticket. My guess is he never went to weight station.....let me know if i can provide more information.     BE SURE TO CALL ABOVE AGENCIES IMMED AND REPORT THEM! GOOD LUCK.
