Nationwide Voice voice mail or 800 number ripoff Clearwater Florida

My latest SBC bill had a $14.31 charge for ILD Teleservices, Inc. (800-433-4518) When I called ILD, they explained that they are a billing service for Nationwide Voice and gave me 800-773-5219 to call Nationwide.

Then, on last page of the bill, I've noticed explanation for Nationwide. It said, "Nationwide Voice VMail Monthly Fee" - $12.95, and taxes below, adding up to $14.31.

Amber from Nationwide was not pleasant. She said that on Dec 6, I've requested an 800 number service. And, supposedly, I did it on line. When she asked, "So, do you want to cancel it?", I responded, "I want you to correct your error! This is a fraud" She gave me confirmation # and promised to issue credit.

I never requested an 800 number, never requested a voice mail or anything else from Nationwide.

Since the Nationwide Voice charges are posted on SBC bill, is SBC playing any part in it? Is SBC responsible for correctness of charges?
