I booked this hotel specifically because of the indoor pool and hot tub. This was a requirement and I was willing to pay the price for it. I was very disappointed to find out when we arrived that the pool, hot tub, and gym were all out of order 'for regular maintenance'. According to one of the maids she did not know why this was, and it had been out of order for quite some time. Expedia has a comment from February that the hot tup was out of order.

After getting the run around I decided not to stay there and so I left. I am actually quite angry about this because in trying to resolve a refund to my credit card some 4 days later they tell me the pool and hot tub is still out of order. I believe that this hotel is cash strapped and would rather not fix their problems but they continue to advertise the amenities.

This is a bait and switch in my opinion because people choose this hotel and pay a premium for the amenities only to arrive and be surprised. Most reasonable people will put up with this but I'm the kind of guy who wants to get what he pays for so I am giving fair warning to everyone to call this hotel first before booking a trip there.

Anyway, they refuse to refund my money so now I have yet another chore to take care of when I get home from an otherwise awesome trip.

In exchange for not posting my negative review Expedia convinced the management that I was due a refund for not staying. A small win, but a win is a win.

I'm correcting the location of the hotel. It is in New Mexico not California.
