Natural Beauty Premier Dead Sea Extremely Aggressive Tactics Bloomington, Minnesota
It started at Mall of America when the girl from the kiosk asked if she could ask me a question, what do I use on my face for skin care. I knew right away they were probably a "hustle" but I like skin care products so thought I would give them a listen. I feel I came away unscathed as my goal was to spend about 30.00 but the overly aggressive sales tactics are what really got under my skin - pun intended!
I was interested in a jar of the salt scrub (the product they demo-ed on my hands) until they quoted a price. Strange how that one product immediately dropped from $90.00 to $60.00 as I grabbed my shopping bags to walk away from what could only be called highway robbery. When I said $60.00 was still too rich for my blood it suddenly dropped again to a "special price" of $30.00; which from a few internet searches, appears to be the product's actual retail price on some sites and a little high compared to similar products on other sites.
As the first sales girl was giving me a demo of the salt scrub the second was lurking close by; and yes, both had thick, possibly fake accents. I smelled the lotion she wanted to put on my hands and I said No Way - too much perfume, so I put just a dab on the back of my left hand. As I was purchasing the salt they continued to try to talk me into the lotion.
Even after I had completed my purchase transaction for the salt scrub, they kept hounding me to buy lotion, which I told them several times I did not want, was not interested in it, nor could I use due to it containing heavy perfume.
Then my husband called to tell me he was a few minutes away from arriving to pick me up at the front entrance, so I said I had to leave. They, (2 salespersons) again grabbed at me to try to pressure me to listen to their reasons for why I should purchase a product I did not want. When again I said I had to go, that my husband was waiting, the one saleswoman literally body blocked me to keep me from leaving, leaned in at 6 inches from my face and had the nerve to say, "So what? Make him wait". Joking or not, as a salesperson, that is extremely rude, aggressive, borderline physically assaultive, unprofessional, completely inappropriate and just plain out of line.
Thank goodness I didn't let them talk me into the lotion because the tiny bit I did use on the back of my hand itched like h*#! within 20 minutes. No matter how much I may enjoy the product I purchased, I will never buy it again because of this over the top behavior.
I encourage anyone who has had a similar bad experience to contact the mall management. I did so and they have fantastic customer service! They replied right away and informed me according to the lease they have with kiosks the mall is allowed to fine and terminate tenants that do not abide by the lease agreement which includes much of what I experienced. They intend to pursue action with this specific kiosk.
