Our family was solicited by phone by Steve Billig. We ordered food early last year, told the meat was from Lancaster PA, visions of nice Amish farmers. We didn't think to ask for proof. The food was delivered on time. So we ordered food again last September, paid $1550 check which was promptly cashed. Now end of January still no food.

All the same excuses others report... daughter with 'hole in heart', sick child, illness in office, flooded facility, phone lines cut. We got in touch with ABC's '7 On Your Side", they had several other complaints. Now that he's been exposed by them, and consumer affairs has started proceedings, he's calling everyone who's owed and frantically promising delivery this weekend. We'll see. Meanwhile this loser continues to solicit new customers AND change his company name, it's been nature's prime, naturally prime, now ONP Organic Natures Prime.

Since he's obviously a liar who will say anything to get your money, and since none of the vacuum packed frozen meat from the first delivery was labeled in any way, DO ANY OF YOU KNOW if this meat is really organic? We asked for proof from him and he refused to reveal his "many providers" (forget about Lancaster) and says he doesn't have to prove it!!! What are we eating???

ABC's Tappy Phillips and "7 On Your Side" did it!

Don't know why he chose us to deliver to... but I figure it's because we went to the media - ABC's "7 On Your Side" and they took cameras into his basement office and confronted him at his desk and put it on the air. The following week we had a call promising the food - and it came a week later. According to consumer affairs nobody else who's complained has seen any food or money yet. Go to the media and get all of the comsumer advocates after this nasty man. If indeed he has all his assets in his wife's name as stated in other reports (Nature's Prime, Naturally Prime, Organic Natures Prime... who knows what other names) then he prepared himself up front for this rip-off.

Hey Carmella,
I worked for this company as a tele-marketer unfortunatelly. The farm i supposed to be in lancaster PA, but I think he just goes to the gorcery store and buys it himself.

I agree with you, he does have an nswer for everything just trying to cover up lies. I am in the process of taking him to small claims court becasue I lost $796 on him due to bounced checks, if you want to add in the $5 bounce fee for the last one it's $801. I am willing to make him a deal pay me the $801 lost and I won't press charges or sue him.

When the check first bounced, he said "the bank is in ohio" than their was something on their that said it was ADP, than the name of the bank was SYNERGY, than he said it was a credit union.
Then he said he was swithing banks, and I asked him if I could cash at the new bank, and he said no, because it takes time for the new checks to clear. He is a total scam artist. He owes me $801 and taking him to small claims court, not dealing with him directly any more. If he didn't deliever the food because he though it wouldn't fit thant why did he take the money.

He is a scam

No resolution here...

Hi Carmela,

This is Kathy from New Providence. I can assure you that I've been updating my posts regularly and he has not resolved our issue. He said on Thursday that he was on his way to the courthouse to find out how he needs to handle giving us our money since it went to civil court. I didn't think to say this at the time but he's been to court several times...he should know how to handle this without asking! Needless to say, I never received a phone call back.

How did you get him to finally deliver? It's been since August and I just want my money back!

Got the food... but is it organic?

Guess the fear of consumer affairs filing criminal charges did the trick... Steve Billig appeared in person at our home with the delivery man and a truck full of food. He told me all the same old excuses about the last 6 months of family problems, so I asked then how come there were so many complaints going back years. He said that all of you who have been duped by him are a vocal minority out of thousands of satisfied customers, and that he's made everything right but you fail to follow up and report that your complaints have been satisfied. He's a misunderstood saint!

Then he came up with one more excuse... it was a tight fit getting all the food into our standing freezer and two refrigerator-freezers (it did all fit), seeing that, he said "that's why we didn't deliver, because I thought it wouldn't fit." This man has an answer for everything, then seeing the little symbol on my auto outside asked what church we go to because "I'm a Christian." SHAME on him.

He's promised us hundreds of dollars of "free food to make up for this situation" - I'll update this if that ever happens.

THE BIG QUESTION...He markets this food as "organic", and the vegetables are labeled organic. The butter however, which last time was certified "organic" is now labeled "all natural", check the USDA website, that label has no legal definition and means NOTHING - so we don't have organic butter. And he still will not prove that the meat is organic so we're pretty sure it isn't organic either. Of course "naturally prime" and "nature's prime" don't specify organic and his order sheets say "the best naturally", but HE most certainly does make that promise in his sales pitch that it's "all organic". I asked him why he won't prove the meat is organic and he said "I'll send you something if it makes you feel better" - ya think we'll see that?

I feel sorry for the poor delivery guy, he has to face irate customers all the time. Needless to say, we will NEVER place another order from this company.
