I purchased a BowFlex from Nautilus under for $19 per month payment plan. This payment plan is serviced by HRS (Hits Real Suckers)Accounts. In 2006, my wife paid the bills as I was travelling on business travel and she paid via the internet on the due date.

This resulted in a late charge because the payment was actually posted two business days later. This happened four times in the last year (1st Fraud). Most major financial companies post your payments on the date your made the payment via the internet. HRS does not. They argue that it takes two days for it to "clear." I asked if they wait one week for a check to "clear" the bank before posting or do they post it the day they receive it - well we all know the answer to that. They post it they day they receive it.

Now, if damage is not already done here with the late payment - HRS Accounts drills the consumer further by "financing" the late charge at 21.8% and providing them an online due amount of just $ 21.00 ($ 19. for the reduced payment for Nautilus plus $ 3.00 for the "regular purchase" payment which represents late fees).

How can this be a legal consumer financing agreement? A company can automatically finance a fee. By financing the fee, they disguise the payment of the fee so the consumer doesn't question the minor increase in the monthly balance.

Beware, HRS Accounts is usually very fraudalent tactics to make money off consumers. They just triple their interest with the $ 35.00 late fee. If every consumer has one late fee - they add anywhere from 2% to 5% interest points to the deal.

We will never finance another good or service from HRS Accounts. Not sure I did it in the first place. We will be paying this account off in full next month.
