We recieved a bill in the mail for my 13 year old daughter for calls made from our phone on the internet. Have tried to contact them numerous times but still no response. My daughter is a child and should not have her name on any bill. Her credit is surely to be violated before she is even old enogh to have credit. Please help

Minors can't sign contracts

#2Consumer Suggestion

Wed, October 05, 2005

For one, minors can't sign contracts...like BMG or Columbia House...if you point that out to them, then can't enforce a contract.

Unfortunatly, your phone is in your name as is your internet service....so proving she made the calls versus the owner of the machine making the calls...well your S.O.L. on that.

Welcome to teen-dom and dumb teens. Proves our schools can't teach common sense. Feel bad for you 'cause I think you're stuck unless you can prove she was the one who "signed" something.
