I wanted to post on here to give potential employees and clients an idea about how this company really operates from the perspective of a former employee. For the record in the last month almost half the brokers have left the company. 

You will get paid around 300/week until you get licensed which will take 3 months then it becomes 100% commission. They do give you a high payout (percentage of your gross commissions) after you get licensed but it decreases each month. Until you get licensed you will be cold calling all day and following up your leads to set appointments for senior brokers. They give you a source list to call from but it's the same sources that they have been using for years and it's a joke in the office. There have been times when you will be calling the same person the same day as someone else. As stated in another post I have called many people again that have asked to be put on the "Do Not Call List" and still get calls all the time. While training, any good leads you get will most likely end up going to senior management because you set appointments for them. They act like you get to keep your leads and you do get to, but to meet your numbers you have to use your good leads to set appointments. 

After you are licensed you are on your own. There are no quotas to meet but you will get yelled at if you don't hound your clients for money. Management will expect you to call your clients everyday or two to sell them more stock and make fun of you if you make a bad stock pick (even though everyone in the company lost their clients thousands of dollars in may and june) If you suck up to management and go smoke pot with them everyday, then you will get all of the appointments that the trainees set but if you do not then you will have to cold call like you are still a trainee. It's very disappointing that someone licensed for 6 months longer gets all of the trainees leads while someone who does there homework and has good ideas gets no extra benefits. If you leave before two years you will have to pay them back what they've paid you even though you earned the money for them.

The nature of the office is horrendous if you are a minority. The "bar talk" in the office is often disgusting and vulgar with management being just as bad and racist as the young guys. They are not professional at all and everyday at 4pm half the office goes outside to smoke marijuana. They then come back and continue to work under the influence. 

In short, it's a way to get your foot in the door if you have no other options but you will be abused and not get anything out of the job. There are bad apples who smoke pot all the time and get praised while others don't and get in trouble for trying hard.
