Recently I shopped around to get pre-approval on a New motorcycle loan for 60 months for a total of $15,000.00.  Not expecting to use it all but having it was a good thing.

NFCU came in with %7.0 for 60 month on a NEW bike.  The used rate for the same amount and term was 7.5

NFCU mailed me a draft\ check and contract with terms showing Congratulations on your new loan of $15,000.00...... at %7.0 with a payment of...... please fill in the VIN and the dollar amount to to exceed 15 Thousand etc.

I found a bike; a New, never titled -2009 Yamaha for an all in price of 12,100.00.  Check signed and out the door I go.

A week later I check the account online and it shows as a used bike loan and as

%7.5.  So I call and I am informed that in order for it to qualify as a new motorcycle it has to be a 2010.  I quietly hung up the phone, that was 4 hours ago.  The thoughts keep coming to my head, they are ugly and cannot be represented in words.

There are no terms listed on the website that mention this, non on the contract that mention this and I cannot find other finance companies with such rules.  The amount is nominal, but do this time 50,000 motorcycles, 10,000 motorcycles and you've got yourself RICO.  Racketeering and maybe a ton of money.  This CU is awash in stolen cash and it is unbelievable.  Unless of course there is federal protection for credit unions which no doubt there is.  SO just RUN!
