NCIC (Network Communications International Corp.) Charged $22 for a 1 minute phone call on a pay phone! Longview, Texas
My cell phone was out of minutes so I had to use a pay phone to contact my son. I charged the call to my deb/credit card. I had to dial several times to finally make a connection. I left a message and the total time of the call was less than 1 minute
When I looked at my checking account on-line I was charged $21.46 for the call! Also there's another charge of $6.44 for the same call. Finally, there's two pending transactions for $30 and $5.00 on my account.
I called NCIC and I was told that there was a $14.00 connection charge for the call. They claim the call lasted 8 minutes at 89 cents per minute! When I told the service rep that I wasn't talking to my son's answering machine for 8 minutes, he told me their records show the call was 8 minutes.
I guess I don't understand how this company can continue to rip people off using pay phones. There's all kinds of information on the Internet from other individuals like myself who have been ripped off by this company. I made this call from a pay phone at a public library, and I don't understand why they would do business with such an unscrupulous company.
