Nicole Moss, Property Manager smooth talked her way into a position of which she has no experience. I was hired as an assistant manager at Colony Ridge Apartments. When I got there the computer and filing systems were a mess.
They were missing rental funds for residents, residents had been swindled out of their monies, and there were vendors who hadn't been paid in months. I updated the entire system, collected on outstanding Sec 8 Rental Funds, contacted vendors to straighten out outstanding balance messes, discovered that the previous employees had cell phones in the company name, discovered a money order that was two years old and had not been cashed, discovered that there was a fire unit for which the company may have never processed an insurance claim, walked units to document what condition they were in, was almost attacked by a resident who had informed Ms. Moss that he was still in a unit and she forgot to inform me.
(The resident had a weapon in his hand, when a temp maintenance guy escorted me to the door to see if resident was still in unit or had vacated 'The document in my hand stated that the resident had skipped written in Ms. Moss's handwriting, he hadn't) Ms. Moss laughed when we told her what had happened. Ms. Moss found sneaky ways to describe me as fat around other staff members. Nicole threatened to terminate me because I told her I couldn't work Sundays, which was agreed upon prior to hiring me. Nicole, informed me prior to my hiring that the Manager nor the Assistant Manager would be working on weekends. Therefore, it would not interfere with my duty to church on Saturdays and Sundays, she lied.
Ms. Moss is intimately involved with a contractor and has given him the right to hire and fire other staff when he is not employed by NCM Management. My desk was originally in the office with hers, she moved me out of the office and put a desk in the office for her intimate mate, the contractor. I did all of the computer reports and could hear her on the phone telling the Director that she was responsible for doing all of the things I have listed here. I went to the Director on June 19, 2004, because I could not discuss the matter with Ms. Moss for her loud yelling and unprofessionalism.
The Director informed Ms. Moss of our conversation and on today June 22, 2004, I was fired by Ms. Moss, with her final statement being, "This is what you get for calling Elaine on me (As she was passing me a company envelope), your services are no longer needed. Elaine is not going to believe anything anyone says about me, I thought you knew. (With a confident snappy sarcastic mimicing tone). I need you to leave now." I was used, abused, disrespected, retaliated against, and dismissed for following a flimsy chain of command without any objectivity.
