NCO Financial Ripoff Trying to collect on debt that I am not aware of Horsham Pennsylvania
I got a credit report from all 3 credit companies and NCO shows up for something it does not describe and I don't remember not paying for. This goes back to Feb. 2001. I am trying to fix my credit report and have no idea what this "charge" is for and can not get any info. on it! When I Googled NCO I found almost all entries listed as ripoffs. I am asking for help to rectify this situation and don't know where to begin. Please help!

It sounds as if the item in questions is about to fall off of your credit report according to the seven years rule.
However in the mean time here is what you do I would send a letter of VALIDATION: here are the key points that you should ask for
An explanation of what the amount owed is for and how it is incurred
An explanation of how this amount was caluculated
Copies of documents that show I agreed to pay the amount you state
Indetification of the original creditor
Proof that the staute of limitations has not expired on this account
Proof that you are licensed to collect in my state
The name and address of your bonding agent
Your license numbers and Registered Agent Documentation
Now file a complaint with your state's attorney general's office and the Federal Trade Comission.
Now dispute with the three credit bureaus and demand them to provide your with the documentation of this debt
Now go the FTC web site and learn all about fair debt collections and go to your states Web site and learn about the statute of limitiations on debt
When you file complaints and write letters send all correspondence certified retrun receipt and write the number on all of your letters in case this thing goes to court.
Yes, this is a lot of writing, but worth it.
Good Luck, staff off of the phone
