I have recieved several Phone Calls from this company regarding a medical bill...I have requested verification of the bill, I have gotten nothing....they are now calling from a spoofed 888 number that is not in service or a valid phone number....I blocked the first number they called me from, so now they are spoofing numbers...

This company doesn't seem to get the Recent court case about them from their State Attorney Generals office...They continue the violations just like nothing has happened....

the fake number they use to call out on is 888-637-0271..... If you have gotten calls from that number please comment here.. also please comment with the recorded names of the person they say to call back... thank you

According to Bud Hibbs(check out his site at Bud Hibbs. com) NCO Financial is the worst in the country! And that's really saying something.

They specialize in active duty service members. There are numerous complaints on Hibbs' site about these oxygen thieves.

I will try to help a little. First you cannot just verbally tell a bill collector to stop calling you. They don't have to in that case. Second you cannot verbally request a verification of debt, it doesn't work that way. They should have mailed you a letter when they first made contact. When you receive that letter you have 30 days to request validation of the debt and this MUST be done in writing. They are under no legal obligation to verify a debt from a phone call. If you do not request this validation within 30 days, the debt is presumed valid and they can move forward on it. Under the law they can only call you once per day, BUT you must talk to them for it to count. If you ignore or reject the phone call it. Does not count as contact on that day and they can keep calling. The only way to stop the ph and desist one calls is to A) pay the debt or B) submit a cease and desist letter in writing certified mail to the company. This letter will prevent further phone calls. If they continue to call after a cease and desist letter they will be in violation of the fair debt collection act.

First of all, nobody needs to be harassed by any third party debt collector, aka: bottomfeeder.

The FTC has jurisdiction over third party debt collectors who fall under the provisions of the FDCPA. However, there is no enforcement by any government agency on the behalf of an individual.
You must take them to court at your own expense.

The first step is to send them a written request to CEASE COMMUNICATIONS as per the provisions of the FDCPA. Do not sign this letter, just print, and do not give them any personal info like SS#, or DOB, as they may not have it already.

Send this letter by certified mail, return reciept requested. Be sure to put the certified# in the body of the letter itself, and make a copy for your records, as this proves exactly what you sent.

As far as the spoofed numbers and harassment goes, you can strike back.
I have done this to several bottomfeeder collectors and lawyers and even government agencies.

Make 100-150 copies of your cease communications letter and fax them to every single fax# they have. Repeatedly. Do it every night right after they close so there is nobody there to stop it. You will run out their paper and toner.

This works. And the satisfaction you will get cannot even be described!

They are threatening and illegally using an automated recording to call my mother, looking for me to scam me. I had told them to stop calling or I will file a harassment complaint with the police! They desperately need to be stopped and put out of business they are nothing but scammers and crooks! I will not tolerate their constant harassing phone calls!
