I have recently received several of calls directly from N.C.O Financial Systems within the past month. There was a lady representative by the name of Tina Smith which answered the phone shortly after i made the call. When she first answered, She started trying to verify my  personal information like as if she was trying to obtain as much information from me as possible. It was so alarming in which i had to interrupt her to ask a few questions what was it concerning. While asking the questions, She was being very rude about stating how they where trying to collect a debt regarding some student Loan Back in 1995. I started to give my emphasis on what i knew about the fair debt collection practices act. I explained to her that in many states They have a statue of limitations law about collecting debts and credit report information. I told her that I knew the law and I did not have any student loans showed on my credit report also they have a law in some states against companies trying to collect a 16-year old alleged debt. Quite Frankly to be honest, I only attended the school for only 2 months because I didn't like the school and stopped, but even though It startles me because she claimes that i am currently owing 12,000 dollars to the school and that they were going to garnish my wages. I told her that i am already being garnished from my child support case, how much damage do you think you can do to me? She started trying to put me down as if i was some unresponsible person. I told her that why does your company contact me 16 years later with some debt that i never received notice on? She stated to me and says "We were looking for you for a long time"! So i explained to her that i knew my rights about collections and i had worked for a company that provides consumer credit reports in a call center, And I would literally help people to dispute invalid information. It seemed like the more i explained my knowledge to her, The more upset she was becoming to in which she says "There is no statue of limitations law!!!" Then she volunteers to put her supervisor on the phone so i told her to go ahead to put her supervisor on the phone because i don't want to talk to her anymore because of her rudeness. She was continuously talking over me during the conversation. Later, as soon as the supervisor answered the phone it was obvious that the same debate over my knowledge of the system , The supervisor was beginning to become upset trying to say that there was no statue of limitations law and there is nothing that my attorney can do but maybe stop our phone calls. I explained to him that there is a way out of what you are trying to do, I explained to him also that i already have a wage garnishment due to child support arrears and that i never heard of two wage garnishments at the same time. He  kept trying to challenge my knowledge and education trying to persuade me into believing his word over my education. He continued to debate against what i knew until i finally said "I know my rights buddy." It was very disturbing and outrageous to have those collectors disrespect my knowledge, My home, And talk to me like i am some unresponsible person that has no manageability whatsoever. I am 35 years old now trying to live a good prosperous life. I have never had this happen to me, however, Before i hung up with the supervisor, He stated about a 65-year old lady was upset about them contacting her about a debt  possibly from her earlier years. That is just an example of how debt collectors are, They don't care who you are, how old you are, Or how educated that you may be about the system. I've had a few past collections, but never dealt with anyone like this EVER!! Honestly, Someone needs to put an end to N.C.O. FINANCIAL SYSTEMS

First of all, there IS no statute of limitations on student loans. The minute you accept one, you are giving up all your rights under the FDCPA.

Secondly, it does no good to argue with them, especially when they are right. However, your lovely president has changed the term from 25 years to 20, so if you could hide for a few more years, it would be a forgiven debt. Good luck with that.

No, I do not work for NCO. They are a bottom feeder company, but if they have your student loan, you have NO rights. Trust me on this. You can make them stop calling, but they'll get the money, one way or another, even if your kid has to starve. (Which it probably would have anyway, since you did not pay your child support voluntarily).

Was that a private or federal student loan?
