I received a call from Michelle Williams with a heavy southern accent (I live in New England) she reported she is a Process Server in my state and told me that she was calling to inform me she was getting ready to serve me a court summons. She state I was being charged with check fraud and asked if I knew anything about this to which I said I do not. She reported that she had the company that was suing me and gave me the number as 888-319-3807. I asked what this was in regard to and she reported a payday loan. Not sure how a process server got that info but I digress. When I asked for her supervisor with the State she connected me directly to NCS. Not sure how a process server in my state can do that but anyway. The company person told me that the loan was taken out from a company called Cash Yes and was originally for $400 now with additional charges it is $700. I told them I have not had a checking account in a number of years and they said it was Navy Federal Bank. Never heard of that bank and told them mistakenly I assume that the only banking institution I have ever had was Key Bank and I had that account for over 20 years before cloing it a few years ago. My state does NOT have a Navy Federal Bank!!!

I asked them to send me something in writing through the mail and they said they would only send me something via e-mail and I reported to them I do not have an e-mail address and they said this was extremely time sensitive and I would get the paperwork through the process server. I told them that was fine and I would contact my attorney and the FTC. This is the first correspondence I have had from this company or the forst I have heard of this payday loan. They had all of my personal information. I contacted the FTC immediately and reported the call and the threats. Now I guess I wait and see it I get served!! They are threatening criminal charges it was my understanding they could only take you to civil court. Anyway I reported them and suggest you do the same!!
