My father, who is 90 years old, received numerous phone call solicitations to purchase an auto warranty from Royal Protection.... He told me he felt pressured to buy it... the plan he purchased was for 7 years and cost
$1691.00........he agreed with me that he really didn't need the plan so we wrote up a cancellation letter and returned the warranty policy to Royal on 10/31/07 via certified mail... we were told it was received and that a
refund check would be sent within 10 to 12 weeks... when it did not come, I spoke with Brett in the Refunds Dept. several times and he assured me the check was "on it's way".... my last conversation with Brett was
approximately 10 days ago and he admitted to me that the check was never sent... he stated that my Father's check was in a stack "waiting to be endorsed".... noting that this company has been reported here for a similar situation and finding the owner's name (Michael Shaftel) and his office phone number and cell number, I called both.... it has been 7 days and no return phone call.... there is no reason that this company should be holding back my Father's refund. This is a fraudulent practice and people need to be aware of them.

Help!

I have, as well as many others have been taken advantage of by this fraudulent company. My car needed three costly repairs (at different times, of course) and my "warranty" company (Got Warranty Inc., Dealer Services and Palmer....whatever they call themselves) stated in my contract that each repair would be covered under the warranty. What a CROCK!I lost $2589 and never received any repairs to my car, as the warranty stated. I'm looking into legal action because every time I try to get answers, I run into a dead end. Have you tried any legal action?

You know the word bull---- well then. Because thats what you guys do. In fact it sounds like you still work there. That is why you attack me instead of just answering the questions. Explain to the consumers about this your tactics. How are you okay with any of it. Its wrong. Its stealing. Bottom line...HOW WOULD YOU LIKE IT IF THAT WERE YOUR 90 YR OLD FATHER GETTING HUSTLED FOR 1700 DOLLARS.

You seem to be an ex-employee who is disgruntled at being such.  If things were so bad and the company so "janky" why did you stay there?  I think I know; because you liked the job and the company while it suited your needs.  When it didn't you moved on and felt that you would spread your misery like farmers spread fertilizer...  You know what another word for fertilizer is don't you?  Starts with "BULL- - - -!"  Get a life.  I no longer work there but worked there for over a year.  I hope I worked there before you did because I never knew any George that worked there.

Do you find it easier to get the credit card numbers from trusting 90 yr olds than some youngster privy to researching your racket? Hey do you guys still use that whole "sir or mam or better yet we like the sri lankan kid calling them hon,(short for honey) this is a real strict 3 step process, first we offer you the warranty at the dealership, then through the mail, and lastly this final courtesy call....WHAT A CLOSE!!QUACK.!!!.how many mailrooms do you have? What dealerships or manufacturers are you associated with?? Why do you present yourself as anything but a janky after market warranty..

How did you obtain Chris's father's information ie.,name, phone number, automobile..if even  correct ...to begin your telephone solicitation assault? Did the person who solicited him even use his true name on the phone? Did the solicitor state he was trying to sell him an after market warranty or did he act as if he was affiliated with the dealership or manufacturer? When your boiler room closer pressured the old man, did he do so by stating if he did not "activate" the warranty he would be marked down as "declined" and ineligible for protection, and in order to save his warranty file he needed to put a small down payment on a visa, mastercard, discover or even a check by phone? . Did you try to scare him by saying a computer chip will cost him 5 thousand dollars? Did you tell the old man his warranty would cover everything on the car or be "bumper to bumper"? Did you tell the old man the only things the warranty does not cover are windshield wiper blades, brake pads, fuses and bulbs, when in fact there are many more items the warranty does not cover?  After you guys got the 90 year old man's credit card number did you guys high five?  And is there a man who uses the name Brett on the phone with your victims, but whose actual real name is something else? And why did you feel the need to call the old man so many times, he obviously was not interested the first few of the "numerous" times you called him?..Mr. Shaftel how many different telephone scam rackets do you have beside auto warranties?... And how do you keep your rating with the BBB with your numerous complaints? Is it only because you are the treasurer on the BBB board in New Jersey?
