I bought a Neal Klein Spech home in March of 2003, I was refused the right to have a final walk through until after I signed all closing documents. I was never given a disclosure statement as to the condition of this new home. The sales contract was done on a contract for a resale property.

Which I beleive is because they knew of the problems with the home, which was never disclosed to me. Neal Klein was ordered by the registrar of contractors to repair atleast 20 items with my home. Neal Klein did some repairs, some of which were not done properly, and not to industry standards. Being a single Mom with 2 children, one of which is severly handicapped and gets around my home by scooting on the floor, I have made Neal Klein aware that I am having a problem with pests getting in my home, scorpions, and centepedes, they are coming in through the walls from out side.

I am of course concerned for my families health and saftey. I have contacted Neal Klein more then 10 times, I ahve sent letters and certified letters with no answer to them. I have tried to get the realty Broker to return my calls, I have questions, and I want documents from Neal Klein, I have been told "NO" My home was not built according to the blue prints, and the Town of Prescott Valley tells me there are code violations, but the Town doesn't want to do anything to help me, as I have found that the gentleman who signed to get the permits (for the Neal Klein Corp) to build my home is on the Building Board of Appeals.

The Town wouldn't let me see the file on my home, until I contacted the News Paper, I ws told by the Town that they didn't want this story getting out to the Paper. However the Paper doesn't want to print the story, they recieve alot of money from Neal Klein, for advertising. Neal Klein advertises as Neal Klein Homes, however there is no such Company it is actually Neal Klein COnstruction Corporation, I suppose to make it difficult for people to check on the status of their lisence. As far as what I believed about Neal Klein before I purchased my home was what I had read from the web page they have, www.nealkleinhomes.com, I beleived that I was getting an energy star certified home, totally untrue, when you check on energy stars web site Neal Klein has only qualified 2 homes out of all that they build.

Neal Klein also says on their web pages that they have been placed in the Professional Builders Magazine for the QUALITY of the homes they build, so I believed that I was getting a very well put together home. This is not so, all I could find was that Neal Klein was placed in Professional Builders magazine for GROSS REVENUE! This is a far cry from QUALITY! I just want a safe home for my children, and this has damaged me financially as well as it has damaged me emotionally. I now have this home that cannot be resold to anyone with problems such as that slab lifting and sinking, doors that don't fit right, cracks in the slab, the slab has sank so far in my livingroom that you can fit your fingers under the wall into the next room. I have cracks in my drive way. the cracks in my garage have been "Fixed", however since my home was not built to the blue prints, and the cement was placed directly on the soil, I beleieve this will reoccur.

I have dry wall cracks that have been fixed, and just keep returning, my grading was not done properly, NEal Klein told me they were going to come back out and do it over, however that never happened. Neal Klein refuses to give me anything in writing, except that they will come in and lower my base boards, so to make my wall meet the floor where the slab has sank, I dont find that lowering the base boards is going to fix and stableize my slab. I want Neal Klein to repurchase this home as it will never be what I paid for, and it is endangering my children and I. These problems I have listed are not a complete list, this page would go on forever.

recieved a call from the Corporate Officer

#2Author of original report

Sat, March 20, 2004

Just wanted to follow up, I recieved a call on Weds the 17th that the Corporate Officer from Neal Klein wanted to come and see my home and follow up on the work that HAD been done upon the Registrar of contractors order. I was told that my home was not just settling and that I would have to have the whole slab removed to make the correct repairs, as well as they sent out a tractor to regrade my whole yard.

I had sent them a letter as well as the same letter to The Office of Administrative Hearings and the Registrar Of Contractors office the prior week. I requested that they repurchase the home form me that it will never be the same after all of the damage that has happened with the slab.

On Friday I recieved a call from the Corporate Officer asking if I still wanted them to repurchase the home, as I told him yes I do. They will be talking to the CEO of the company to see if this is reasonable, and working out the details. I hope they are good for their word this time, I have been so stressed out because they never want to put anything in writing, and all the verbal I have gotten never gets followed through with. I will up date as things transpire.
