In 20007,I was a naive victim of AWSM Tech first. Although I flew to AZ,viewed the offices and went to meet ithe company CEO and workers, AWSM was in the midst of a law suit across town. Many of us who were there saw the faces of the staff, workers, etc. Maurice L was one of those people. When we had been informed that AWSM had been indited in a crime, the10 or so investors were stunned.  Neekum called me shortly afterward to tell me "Google is wanting to clear their name as it was associated with AWSM. They have granted Neekum the contract to fulfill these sites to the people who were defrauded by that company. We have a lot of pressure on us, but we intend to make right what you were sold. Google is really angry to be used as a pon in this fraud. The courts are looking at a settlement in favor of the plaintiff Frank Stokes of over 1 million. They don't want their name dragged through any more unhappy clients."

Naturally, I was thrilled. I had lost my retirement to AWSM. Mr. David Edgecomb (at least that was the name he used) told me that they were a young company, as the internet was young, and even though I had already paid for the product, they were using the customary OPM (other people's money) like all business does in order to be able to pay the programmers and continue their work. A start of around $600. on a Visa would be good enough to get the process started. That way I could see how the process was going, before going on to more. I put the payment on a Discover card. He said he would be in touch.

At that time, there was little public understanding of the internet.  Most of us did not know that Google was a separate company but that all websites needed it so they were all connected - somehow. There was a lot of buzz about the AWSM incident in the town and in the news. Somehow it made sense to me. I wasn't aware of a criminal tactic where criminals seek out newly victimized people and are able to extract more money with this idea. It is the soreness of loss and the hope of fixing the loss that makes us open to becoming more of a victim.

Mr. Edgecomb strung me along for a year. He was always available to take my calls, give me a big story about the progress and hope for tomorrow. After one year, he called and told me that Neekum had decided to take a different direction with the project and he could not agree with it. He could no longer guarantee that I would be profitable with the original idea of building traffic to a domain name and then selling the name as if it were virtual real estate. I never heard from him again.

I did hear from my Credit Cards....Edgecomb placed more than 20 Thousand dollars on just the Discover card. AWSM placed charges on other cards. I had never experienced this kind of deceit in people who talk to you right to your face, smile, buy you fancy meals and then charge your credit card To keep the cards from defaulting I transferred the balance to other cards. The money between them was all intermingled.

I have tried for the last 7 years to get this classified as the fraud that it was with the Credit Bureaus, but I didn't have the knowledge of how, or the just ignored my legal documents.. I consulted and paid for company's to clear up the credit reports and even though I have a court document that clears me of evidence of ownership of this debt, I am ignored.  I had to default, I had no ability to pay, I was seeking an income for a knowingly future unemployment. I had the debt legally discharged, but illegally the bank cards did not honor that and reported to the IRS. Now I am being charged for an "income" that I didin't have. The card company gets a tax write off, my credit goes from 730 to tank. I am adding this information for this reason. Not all fraud is alike. We think our laws protect us but there is not protection from those who deceive us and our courts don't follow the laws they knowingly have to follow. I included this info because there are lots of areas and items that one circumstance initiated can cause a domino effect.

I have yet to find a DAVID EDGECOMB in any Google Search, I noticed that some others have found Maurice, but there is little info even on Neekum. This alias, whoever he was, worked good for him I guess. What is hard to understand, is how long it takes any authority to take action against complaints. 2009-2011 is what I see on ROR. Also, so many many many of these kinds of "biz ventures" take place in AZ!  Does anyone know why that is? AZ AG? Do you?
