Complaint Review: Nelson Homes of Ohio

Beginning in the winter of 2000 through today, 12/26/02, Nelson Homes of Ohio has completely disrupted our lives. Thinking back to the beginning I should have know better when their Sales Representative asked for a paper cup to take his beer home with him after an in-home sales call. I don't know who is more stupid, myself or their company!

What was to be our dream home on 27 acres has turned out to be quite different. This company LIED, CHEATED and INTIMIDATED us to the point were we are just plain stuck with the house we have.

During the building process we went through 5 building supervisors, 2 to 3 office managers, 3 regional managers and 2 presidents. At least $1000.00 in features that we did not receive due to either poor engineering or poor sales personnel.
Late construction gave Nelson Homes of Ohio the advantage against us. Our rental lease was ending the same week of the closing with Nelson Homes. After reading our walk through list (completed the day before we were to move), the Nelson Homes Regional Manager stated that he didn't want to let us move in until the list was completed. He tried to 'strong-arm' and belittle us because he was aware if our precarious situation. (We were assured many times in the past, by many of their associates that we would be in our home in plenty of time.)

This report is just a small part of our experience. We are still writing complaint letters to various agencies and Nelson Homes. I would like to warn all potential home buyers in the Central Ohio area to stay away from this builder.
