Nero Asknet Scamed by Nero/Asknet Glendale, California
In Feb 2010, I purchased Nero 9 from their website. Along with this purchase came a 1 year trial of Online Backup, which I never used. In Feb 2011 my credit card was charged for renewal of this service. Nero claims that I signed up for automatic renewal when I purchased Nero 9. However, the confirmation email I received from Nero states:
"You have not signed up for an auto-renewal of your subscription. Please be sure to renew your subscription before it runs out so that you can continue using the Nero Online Backup."
Nero insists that I signed up for this subscription and I need to sign in to my account at Nero.com and cancel my subscription. When I log into the Nero site it states "you have no subscriptions". They also cite an order number that does not match my order number.
I filed a report with the BBB, which was closed as resolved. I have reported this information to the FBI cyber crimes division.
I have copies of the email and screen captures of the Nero site showing that I have no subscription to this service, yet they refuse to discuss it.
