Spam-Trap! Accidentally touching a poorly identified affiliate service link on the Netdetective search page (even though I submitted no information and closed the window immediately) almost instantly caused volumes of spam to start appearing in my email. Apparently, that affiliate was able read and capture my ND log-in data and email address. The link had looked like it was an alternative search method through ND.

During the three days when the service actually worked, I found the search engine is lame. Searches on statewide basis only, not city, not all states. Results were generally less complete than you could find through the free Zabasearch engine. The only improvement was some addresses listed multiple names at the household.

Social Security number search only validates the state in which the number was originally issued and provide no other data.

On fourth day, the log-in and passcode the company gave me quit working. Since I can't log in and all I can get is an answering machine at the company provided phone link, I can't even request my money back that way. We will see how emailing the company works. I am not holding my breath.

The company "terms of use" specifies that a user must request a refund using a form. The link to the form actually only goes to product order pages.

Don't waste your money. This company has worse things than empty promises in store for you.
