Complaint Review: Net Detective My Perfect Credit

I have subscribed to Net Detective for the past two years. I have not found it particularly useful.

I recently received an e-mail from Robert F. Williams, Director of Promotions at Net Detective. The subject of the message was: GIFT FROM NET DETECTIVE. The content was a Memorandum from Williams, offering a FREE CREDIT REPORT.

Following the links, I got to My Perfect Credit's web-page, where most of the required information had been supplied by Net Detective. I supplied my SS#, and pressed a button, expecting to receive my free Credit Report.

But...I found I had been enrolled in a MyPerfectCredit plan with Visa Card!!!

I cancelled IMMEDIATELY when I realized I had been SCAMMED, but I had been charged a NON-REFUNDABLE $29.00 for the Visa Card I didn't want, and hadn't used.

MPC REFUSES to repay me, saying that I pressed a button which said "I Agree" to Terms. But I did that only to get to the freebie. And I never AUTHORIZED a charge to my Visa Card, nor did I choose that option. It evidently is the DEFAULT.

JUST BE CAREFUL...The Free Credit Report is NOT free. It's a SCAM. And I SHOULD have known.
