Beware of NetQuote!! Based on my 7 day experience I would NEVER recommend them.

I am a newly licensed Life and Health insurance agent. A property and casualty agent told me he received leads from NetQuote. I went on line and saw that I could get 15 free leads if I signed up. I called the 800 number and talked with Waylan, a nice, professional sounding guy. He told me that instead of the free 15 leads I could get double the leads for the price if I would prepay. I gave him my credit card number and agreed to pay $500 and would get $1,000 worth of leads.

By day two I called my sales person and told him that this was not working as most all of the leads went to unanswered phones with no answering machines and no one responded to emails. Of those who had answered, they said there was no such person at that number and they were bombarded with calls from agents or they had not requested insurance information at all. Some emails were returned as undeliverable. The one potential lead that did talk to me was a heart transplant guy, who should have been screened out according to their terms.

Wayland said the would credit those leads but according to their records he didn't. He then transferred me to customer service. I  explained to Justin that in my experience NetQuote is a big waste of time and money. I wanted to cancel my account and credit my credit card.  Justin informed me that he would not credit my credit card and couldn't cancel the agreement. I said "so I have no recourse?" He said no, not according to the terms of the agreement. I responded "so my only recourse is to turn to consumer complaint sites and go public with my experience?" He said I was threating him. I said "not a threat, a question".

In 7 days I have received 52 leads, which at an average cost of $10 per lead I've had $520 charged to my account. The vast majority of the leads go to phones without answering machines. Despite all the immediate phone calls and follow up emails I have yet to have anyone who is truly interested, let alone someone who answers the phone or returns the call. I was told by NetQuote that the sale ratio is an average of ten to one. By their own ratios, I should have made 5 sales by now, but my ratio is 52 - 0.

NetQuote is the only one who has made a sale. My desire to gain customers is now my big loss of time and money. I cannot believe that there is no recourse. I suspect they are sending recycled and/or bogus leads. They do have a system where you track all your leads and results and also submit why you should get a credit for each lead. Again, it's just more work for nothing - just to get a credit while they send more dead end leads.

I have worked in the business world for 40 years and thought I was savvy and wouldn't fall for rip off scams. I was so wrong!!
