Recently I bought two Smart switched from a Netgear Dealer. Along with the purchase was an offer for a Rebate for two Palm Pilot 125. The Rebate offer did not mention "refurbished Palm Pilot" anywhere. I received two refurbished Palm Pilots. The Palm Pilots were in bad condition. The screens were scatched, batteries were unwrapped and dead, missing data cable, a note saying no Manufacturer warranty, the note also gave a toll number to call for questions, the cd-rom had finger prints on it. I called Netgear about this and they said I was one of the "unlucky 15" who received a non working "refurbished" palm pilot. All other offered for rebate refurbished palm pilots worked fine. They are basically saying that it is okay to dupe the consumers. They will not know the differnece between a new and old unit. They are saying that if they advertise a $100.00US rebate they could conceiveably send you a $100.00 Canadian Dollars or $20.00 US Dollars. After all it is free and whatever that is. The consumers should not gripe.
