NetSpend Account suspended in another country! No help from NetSpend!! BBB notified. Internet
Received my NetSpend card through Turbo Tax. After receiving my card I used it often to buy many things I needed. I bought airplane tickets through Spirit to Colombia. Also bought airplanes tickets through Lan within Colombia as well. Purchased Greyhound bus ticket. Rented a car through Budget. Used my card to obtain a lawyer for personal reasons as well. In all I spent 2000.00$ or so.
I arrived in Cartagena, Colombia on 3/7/2013 and on 3/9/2013 NetSpend suspended my account.
On the 9th, 11th and 12th of March I contacted NetSpend several times by phone using an internet cafe. In all I spent over 6 hours on the phone only to be redirected from one customer service representative to another. When I ask and I did several times to speak to a supervisor I was ignored and told they could do nothing to help me. Another department is in charge of this card suspensions.
Three, two and one weeks out from leaving America for Colombia I contacted NetSpend on multiple occasions about going to Colombia. Each time I was assured I would have no problems using my card in Colombia.
After spending thousands in America and my account NOT being suspended but spending just a few hundred at best in Colombia NetSpend suspends my account!
I contacted NetSpend through phone calls and emails. But I get the usual BS.....the automated email or verbal banter which is on there computer screen.
Furthermore I contacted the BBB to report NetSpend.
NetSpends lack of concern for my situation is grotesque at best and there customer service representatives are completely worthless. Its clear their goal is to deceive people who's money is in trusted by NetSpend! This is absolutely a way of this company to fraudulently make money and rip us off.
